Washington Tyne and Wear
This garden was laid to a very small pathway and patio to the rear of the house with a wasted area of lawn to the side of the property that was unused and dark.We laid a natural sandstone patio with circular feature and cobble edging to the main patio and re-laid the lawn using a cultivated turf.
To develop the side of the property in to a usable, interesting space, we installed edging stones to create a small, low raised bed and back filled with soil in to which we planted a variety of bedding and shrubs.
We laid natural sandstone to the majority of the area to give usable space for more private seating.
In to this paving we created a circle to echo that in the main patio but to create contrast, we laid this in natural granite setts.
This lightened up a dark area of the garden and created interest.
