Longhoughton Village Development Trust
This project is a project due to be constructed during August/September 2009.
This is a Natural Play Area design that uses exploration, natural structures and great, fun planting.
We undertook a full consultation and design process with the client, with views of the children a priority in this concept.
The children wanted white water rapids, lifts within tree trunks and jewel encrusted pathways! - We've based our ideas around this, however, with a bit less risk!!
A "dry river bed" runs through the scheme with tall banks either side - the children cant see over these so it gives lots of exploration and excitement.Pieces of play equipment have been used, but the main focus was to be on natural play - changes in level, cool planting to hide in and chase each other through etc.
We won the contract against stiff competition, and are looking forward to developing the Natural Play Area this summer.
